Christmas Trees: Natural or Artificial?

Christmas is almost here and I’m still pondering whether to buy a real pine tree like I always do or to switch to an artificial one. There are artificial trees which look very realistic, so this could be a good option to save a few real trees. This is an artificial Christmas tree which I quite like, so I might buy it soon. I like its realistic look and the fact that it comes with 700 lights. The removable pine cones will be an awesome toy for all children in our family, that’s for sure.

What do you think? Are artificial trees the solution to keep our planet green?

My Favorite Pork Chop Recipe

One of my big favorite foods of all time are stuffed pork chops. They are much better than grilled steaks or baked chops because they don’t necessarily need a side dish. You can eat them just as they are, with no potatoes nor any other vegetables. If you think stuffed chops are difficult to prepare, you’re wrong. Actually, almost any stuffing would do, from cheese to ham leftovers (this is one of the best leftover ham recipes, great to be used after holidays) or mushrooms, or even shredded chicken breast leftovers.

Preparing stuffed pork chops requires only a bit of imagination. You’ll see that you can find all required ingredients in your pantry, because if something misses, it can easily be replaced with something else. The only mush-have are the pork chops, of course. The second condition is that they are thick enough to allow cutting those pockets that are going to be stuffed with the other goodies.

A spinach artichoke dip can make an excellent and tasty appetizer, and it’s very easy to prepare. It’s a good idea for celebrations, when you want to cook many dishes, but you lack the required time. Winter holidays are just over the corner, so once more we start thinking of changing the interior decor with a more festive one. The Christmas tree is still a beautiful tradition, appreciated by people of all ages. But something has changed over the years: more of us started to realize that cutting trees for such celebrations is not exactly the wisest way to behave with our planet’s resources. It takes more than ten years for a pine tree to reach the size of 7 foot and we cut it just like that and keep it in our living for two weeks, then throw it away.

This year, if you want to go green, a good idea for starting is to buy an artificial tree, which will serve you for many years from now. There are realistic Christmas trees models which look almost like the natural ones. You could hardly tell the difference, and thinking that we are also adding those lights and ornaments, it makes no sense to buy a real tree.
