Some of my friends fear that because they need to buy plus size costumes, they may end up by paying more because the costumes need more fabric, as they are bigger than average size ones.

Is this true or not? It depends. I’ve found shops which display the same prices, no matter what size of costumes you want to purchase. Nonetheless, some others, and especially for high-quality costumes, prices for XXL and XXXL outfits could be slightly bigger than the average ones. That’s normal, in case of expensive materials. But the majority of Halloween costumes available on the market aren’t using such pricey materials, as they don’t need to last for too many years. After all, for how many times can somebody wear the same costume?

The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorites. This is why, over the past few years, each Halloween I’m wearing a Wizard of Oz character costume. I’ve been Dorothy, I’ve been the scarecrow, the cowardly lion, and this year it’s time to be the Tin Man. However, I’m a woman, so I’m going to have a plus size Tin Lady Halloween costume. I know, I’m big, but that’s what XXL size costumes are for: to dress up nicely girls like myself who enjoy eating maybe a bit too much.

I’m sure I’ll look terrific in my silver mini-dress and the silver boots. It’s going to be a surprise, so please don’t tell my friends the secret, in case you know them and you’re reading my blog.

The Dolphin mascot costume is probably one of the cutest I’ve seen in such a big size. I’m saying this because most kids are afraid of those big mascot guys when they see them in stores or on the street. My kids are surely scared and they start to cry when they spot such a monster approaching them.

Yet, yesterday we were shopping and there was this huge dolphin guy giving kids candies. I don’t remember what the action was for, but the dolphin was surrounded by a dozen toddlers: none of them seemed to be afraid. That’s when I realized that it’s possible to wear a huge costume and yet get well with children.

If you have kids, then you’re probably aware with the latest craze: the Transformers. I have to admit I haven’t seen the movie, but my three kids are asking me day and night to buy them Transformers Bumblebee costumes for this Halloween. I don’t know what to say, I’d be happier if they used once more last year’s costumes, because they were very funny and they are still in fashion. Nonetheless, I feel like I’ll never have peace in my home again if I don’t get them those bumblebees, despite the fact that I think they’re ugly like hell.
